O’ Mother cry not

The sores ache no more,
The cuts bleed no more,
All the wounds are healed,
All the scars are cured,
I moan not.
So wipe off your tears,
And worry not,
O’ Mother, cry not.

No more monsters to haunt me,
No more beasts to torment me,
Sun hugs me in the cold,
Clouds blanket me in the heat,
I fly with the winds,
I rest in fairies’ wings,
I am restive not.
So wipe off your tears,
And worry not,
O’ Mother, cry not.

I am cared for as a royal,
Always draped in a regal attire,
I am served with luscious sweets,
I am fed with moreish desserts,
I am hungry not.
So wipe off your tears,
And worry not,
O’ Mother, cry not.

God hums rhymes to me,
Angels sing lullabies to me,
On the stars I swing,
In the moon’s lap I sleep,
lie awake not.
So wipe off your tears,
And worry not,
O’ Mother, cry not.

In the moonlight,
colour your smile,
I paint Baba’s moustache,
I sketch my school,
My teachers and my books,
Then hide it under my pillow,
But I weep not.
So wipe off your tears,
And worry not,
O’ Mother, cry not.

I play around the orchards,
I walk among the flowers,
Butterflies caress me,
Ladybirds cuddle me,
I sit along the lakes,
Holding fish in my palms,
Whispering them all my grief,
I am in heartache not.
So wipe off your tears,
And worry not,
O’ Mother, cry not.

Fireflies flutter over me,
Geese flap around me,
Parrots chant and penguins clap,
Squirrels bop and rabbits hop,
Peacocks dance and bears prance,
To the merry tunes,
We cheer a lot,
I am alone not.
So wipe off your tears,
And worry not,
O’ Mother, cry not.

I dream of you every night,
Stealthily crawling in your quilt,
Silently lying against your tum,
I listen to your breath,
I taste your scent,
I touch your lips,
I warm your cheeks,
I murmur you ‘good night’,
Every night,
I am away not.
So wipe off your tears,
And worry not,
O’ Mother, cry not.

Every day, I write you a letter,
Words, drenched in attar,
Adorned with glitters,
Curled in your arms,
One day, I will read you them all,
I forgot you not.
So wipe off your tears,
And worry not,
O’ Mother, cry not.

I miss you a lot,
But a day is far not,
When the gates of paradise will open,
And I will run into your arms,
To bury my head in your chest,
To kiss you on the forehead,
We will meet again,
In a life hereafter.
So wipe off your tears,
And worry not,
O’ Mother, cry not.
